Barbeque 1st of May

We had a barbeque in our garden on the 1st of May. It was a good excuse to finally take out and clean the garden furniture and, of course, meet our friends. We had a really nice day out in the sun!

A day at the beach

On Thursday it was national holiday here and we finally went to our summer place in Fregene. It's not far away at all, but our week-ends just are so full of football matches and horse riding and other things that we don't go there very often. We should go there more, because you really get a holiday feeling when you go there. We invited our good friends there, which makes the day even more enjoyful. And the best thing is that while we are at the beach with the children our husbands cook the lunch. Lovely! And it always tastes wonderful there.

If you go there quite early in the morning you can buy lovely fruit and vegetables just near our house. They really taste different from those that you buy in the super market!

The weather was nice too, not too warm and not too cold. The only thing that wasn't nice was that the beach where we always go was very dirty! Last year they closed the nice open bar at the beach because it was unauthorized and now someone had burnt it, so it all was very ugly. But anyway it was a good day and gave me some energy for the evening and next day when I had a lot of work because I had a translation to deliver.

Our month of May

May is almost over now. This month Sofia had her confirmation and we went to two other confirmations.

The confirmation was at 6 in the evening and we had a nice little party afterwards at the restaurant at the barn where we go horse riding. It actually is the yacht club restaurant and is a very nice place for this kind of parties. We invited some relatives, our finnish and swedish friends here and Sofia's best friends.

My parents came here from Finland. We didn't do anything special a part from the confirmation party, just every day life and lots of cappuccinos.

Our 15 year-old dog Milla had a little surgery, because she had a big lipoma that had grown very much and started to annoy her. Luckily everything went well and the vet said it had started to become inflamed, so it was good that it was removed.
Me and Sofia had two show jumping competitions. Sofia did very well in both and was happy because she finally had a change to partecipate in show jumping in the new barn where we stared in February.
May was a good month for her. She also went on a class trip to Calabria. She didn't want to go at first, but in the end she had a good time. This is the last year in this school and next year she will have a new class with new school friends.

Easter

The children had a week off from school for Easter. We painted eggs, had a little egg hunt in the garden, had a nice lunch at home with their grand mother and big chocolate eggs.
Easter Monday is a pick nick day here in Italy, but this year the weather wasn't so nice. Me and Sofia managed to go horse riding in the morning before it started raining, home for a shower and then we had a home pick nick at our friend's house. Everyone brought something to eat and it was very nice! The boys played football, the girls played horses and jumped obstacles that they made and as our girls all go horse riding in different riding schools, we talked mostly about horses and our husbands about football, I imagine.

Daniele's football party

 

Daniele had his birthday party with his football friends on Saturday. They played football, he got nice presents and had a good time with his friends. I had a show jumping competition in the morning and joined the party when I was ready.  Afterwards Daniele had two friends sleeping over at our house and Sofia went to a friend of hers, so everyone was happy.

New hair cut for Sofia

Sofia finally got a new hair cut. She didn't go to school yesterday, because she had a head ache. I took her to the hair dresser's instead and the head ache soon was over.
