Week-end in Terni

On the Valentines's week-end we went for a little trip to Terni, a small town in Umbria.

Our week-ends nowadays follow our sport interests, either horses for us girls, running for my husband or football for Daniele and my husband. Lately all our travels have been made because of the marathons and so was this. We stayed one night in a nice holiday apartment in a small village called Ferentillo. That's were the marathon started and it was a nice choice also for staying overnight. I love these small villages in Italy. We had a very nice and big apartment.

Daniele didn't come with us this time because he was in Austria. He had been invited to stay a week there with his Finnish friends. Very nice for him!
We went to see the Cascata delle Marmore, one of the highest waterfalls in Europe. Very beautiful.

Below a little church in Ferentillo there is a tiny museum of mummies. Here you can read more about it. We saw only the entrance of it with a few of the mummies and some skulls, as we had finished our cash and you couldn't pay the entrance by credit card.

On Sunday Armando's marathon started in the morning in Ferentillo.

The arrival was in Terni, so we went there in the morning before the marathon started as they were going to close the road leading to Terni because of the marathon. We walked around in the old part of Terni which was very nice. There was a chocolate festival going on, so we tasted different chocolates and bought some. The weather was sunny and nice all week-end.
